The 3rd Annual Conference of the Uttar Pradesh Hematology Group, UPHGCON 2026, was successfully organized by Kashi Hematology Group under the aegis of UPHG,ISHBT,and ICH from 20th to 22nd February 2026 at the sacred city of Kashi, at Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University. The three-day conference served as a vibrant platform for academic excellence, scientific deliberations, and exchange of knowledge in the field of hematology.

On the first day (20th February 2026), workshops on Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), karyotyping, and FISH were conducted. Participants received hands-on training in advanced molecular diagnostic techniques, making the inaugural day highly informative and impactful.

The grand inaugural ceremony held on 21st February 2026 was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. Sonia Nityanand (Vice Chancellor KGMU) , Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi(Vice Chancellor BHU), Prof. S. N. Sankhwar(Director IMS ,BHU), Prof. T. P. Chaturvedi, Brigadier (Prof.) Tathagata Chatterjee (President ISHBT), Prof. A. K. Tripathi(Patron UPHG), and Prof. Vijay Tilak(Organising Chairman 3rd UPHGCON),Dr Deepa Rani (Organising Secretary 3rd UPHGCON) who formally inaugurated the conference. On this occasion, the Hematologica Indica newsletter was also officially released by the distinguished dignitaries, marking another significant achievement of the conference.

A major highlight of the day was the “Prof. A. K. Tripathi Oration,” delivered by Prof. Sonia Nityanand on the topic of Aplastic Anemia. Her insightful lecture provided both scientific perspective and inspiration to the audience. In addition, several eminent faculty members from prestigious institutions across the country delivered outstanding lectures on diverse hematological topics.

On the third day (22nd February 2026), the scientific sessions continued with equal enthusiasm. Prof. A. K. Tripathi delivered a special lecture on MGUS, shedding light on important aspects of clinical hematology. Experts from different parts of the country also shared their views on contemporary and research-oriented topics. The conference concluded with the prize distribution ceremony for oral and poster presentations, followed by the vote of thanks delivered by the Organizing Secretary, Dr. Deepa Rani.
